DETROIT - Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Governor Rick Snyder announced a partnership with Sakthi Automotive to create a 70-acre campus and 1.2 million square feet of manufacturing space.
The campus will also include a training center for new engineers and will hold about 650 employees.
The expansion is part of a redevelopment of Detroit Southwestern High School, which has been abandoned for some time. Duggan said the city is putting in $900,000 in federal funds to pay for a partial demolition of the facility. . . .
